11 mile trail run at a new place for me. there's a 4300 acre park with LOTS of trails but it costs $8 to enter. luckily i got there before the person taking money got there. kind of lame how much it is. ridiculous actually! ran for 1hr 49 min. later i hiked for another 5 miles cause it was such a nice day. total exercise time 4hrs. i didn't eat much until dinner and then i was a fat pig, eating a medium pizza by myself among other things. glad i feel ready to start building mileage again and getting in some consistency. the plan is to build up to 80, because Haynes is doing it and i want to be just like haynes! the plan is 65-70 this week and then just hold around 70 for a month and then go from there. 40 mile race is feb 28th so i have time. hopefully i'll start doing some speed stuff but for now i don't feel like it, i just want to run how i feel like running.

Lol, I didn't really plan it but pretty much all of a sudden I had 74 for the week and had been doubling so I just figured I would be a mileage whore and top it off to 80. Too bad you have a job, this doubling is pretty great. The morning runs are sluggish (though after a few weeks you start getting used to it) but they make the afternoon runs just feel great. And hitting 80 felt really easy. My previous week was 60 so we will see how I feel after a few more 70-80 weeks but so far so good. We are just now trying to differentiate our morning and evening runs in terms of distance and route. I think that will be good. If you have a 4 mile route in mind please tell me. We are gonna do 6-7 in the afternoons and blackstone + old graveyard with hope st. back makes 6.75. It is still in the works, but I feel confident that we will work it out by spring time. Didn't you say you were gonna be in prov some weekend this winter? If so when? I don't know if you can really handle one of my calendar days now, but if you work up to it you might get through it.

that's great that you're doing well with 80 miles! i was actually in providence on sat in the evening for a friend's birthday party. wish i had more time up there to say hi but didn't. the morning runs are killing me. i always want to wake up 15 minutes earlier to get in 10, but the darkness and the lack of sleep are just too much. i'll get there though. it's 9:30, past my bedtime!

what do you mean by i can't handle one of your calendar days now?

are you planning on hitting 100 mpw this year? it seems like you're on course....

you know me, i would always run on dirt whenever possible and would always do blackstone or the dog park trails.running by the river is kind of nice too.

I was joking about you not being able to handle one of my calendar days. No I am not planning on hitting 100 this year. I doubt I will even have many 80's. This week will be more 70-75 and then I will reevaluate how I feel. I am looking to some indoor meets in february and then some outdoor meets in may. I might even get adventurous and run some other track distances like the 800 or a track 5000m if I can find one not so intense that I would look like a fool.
