am - 5 miles on my lunch break. Experimenting with ways to get more in once the cycle really ramps up. Not sure if this will work yet but it was fun today. Felt effortless. 6:55

pm - 10 mile evening progressive. 7:15 down to 5:30. Went after chiro, strength, and PT. I have been released and feel really good. The soreness in the right knee is also finally starting to fade. Excited! 6:25

Altra sponsored the group run tonight with a guest. Had a fun night with Runners World shoe and gear editor Jeff Dengate. Running, good conversation and pizza make for some good times. Always good to see Golden, Jeremy, Brian, and Seth too. 7:00, 4 slices

Circuit training followed by 3 hard stairmaster miles. Then cruised 7 on the treadmill at steady easy pace. HR stayed at 130-132. Easy and fun. 6:50

Such a great morning for a canyon run with the group (Scott, Matt, Dan, Reed, and Mike). Bright moon, and good conversation made for a perfect morning. 6:50

Woke up late so this is all I had time for today. It's just as well as I probably need to eat my wheaties today in prep for the group run tomorrow :). I threw one fast mile in (5:13) and cruised the rest. Fun to workout a bit with my wife too. Lats, glutes, back, abs. 6:45

We had a large group from two counties get together today for a long run. A bunch of guys and Devra, who is a beast :). There were five marathon winners there which was just plain awesome. I was pretty geeked out (I still am) and happy when we pulled in and very pleased to just be there. What a treat. The route was a double out and back on the JRT. This was cool because it allowed everyone to go as far as they wanted to but still get some time with the elites in. There was a pretty good headwind on the return of the first and the out of the second that made it interesting. There was some cranking going on during the second stretch. It was very humbling to be running what I thought was a good pace and still get dropped hard :). It was great to see such good camaraderie even though some of these guys compete so hard against each other so often. Very thankful for today. Runs like this will do so much good in getting me to where I want to be next season. It was also very nice to meet and run with new people that normally I only read about. 6:29
