Wasn't sure what I could do today, since I've been having my leg trouble.  Concluded that hit 6:00 pace was a good game plan.  Ten Mile mark I hit 59:52 right on pace.  I was alone from mile 7 to the finish line.  I needed a pack in the windy spots but I couldn't hang with the group after 7.  My stride was out of cadence and I felt like I was dragging the bad leg.  Which in turn caused my other IT band to tighten up.  Just tried to focus on the job and running as even as possible. 1:19:05 at the half.  2:03 on the nose at twenty.  Would have liked to been three minutes faster there but I'll take it. I could see the pace group ahead on the long stretches and focused on that.  Someone told me that the next runner was quite a bit back, this wasn't the best thing to know.  Because I run better in fear.  Slacked off a little to 24.  But ran the last two miles in 13:10 and 1:16 for the .2.  I got paid today which is a good thing being the first master. $250.  I always say boy I wish I was a golfer when it comes to prize money.  Drove back to SLC got a massage and ate a big steak.  Now it's time for another ice bath.  As if twenty minutes in the river after the race wasn't bad enough.   Overall happy with the race outcome.  I ran almost 2:00 faster than last year.  And I had people around me last year to push for, which always helps.  Time to recover fast.

Yeah, good job Bill. I never saw you after the second mile. Way to finish strong even with that injury. Make sure to recoup and heal for SGM. I will be gunning for you. Ha ha ha. It will be nice if we can work together there.

Nice Race... I never saw you either. Good time for not being at your top peak health wise. Very Impressive.

Bill, Nice job. Hope the leg holds up until St. G. The hay is in the barn buddy. Take it easy. Sorry to miss you Monday. No car to get to Libs, so I ran from Neal's. Back in Nov.; see you then. -- R
