Long-Term Running Goals:

Finish recovering from my injuries and build mileage.  That is all.

Personal:

My name is Wes, I'm married with two wonderful children. The nickname BaldNSpicy came from the fact that I have been balding for a (long) while now and spicy for my love of very spicy foods (Thai and extremely hot wings are my favorites).  If eating doesn't bring me near tears and leave me sweating, it's not worth eating.  :-)

Oh, and I'm also known for my doorags.

Planned "rest" day...spent about 4 hrs shoveling the snow, 30 min eating a late lunch, and 30 min soaking in a HOT bath trying to soothe my very sore arms/back.  :-(

Thanks. Usually, I make a concerted effort to rest on the Sabbath. I did listen to Primary music while I shoveled, though. Chillin' now with the fam while I contemplate whether I can stay awake for another hour or not.

Shoveling for that long is a much tougher workout than running. It might be time for a snow blower. :)

SNOW? What does that look like?? Ours has been completely melted for a few weeks, send some our way!!! Although, I do not want to shovel it, will you come do that for me?

Glad you had a semi rest!

Scott - I completely agree! That snow was kicking my butt more than a regular run. My wife tried to convince me to buy one when we first moved to Pittsburgh. I told her we'd see how the first winter went. Our first 3 winters here have been quite mild. This one I needed one! Of course, she told me, "I told you so." Yadda Yadda. I would have sold that thing the third winter after it had been sitting in my garage UNUSED for 3 years. So, I'd still be in the same situation I was. :-) Then I thought of asking her why a shovel wasn't in her hands but figured I'd hold my tongue. :-)

Kelli - I'm more than happy to come shovel your snow. You should see Static and Shock now! Quite the little pea shooters!

Funny! I hate shoveling snow, my driveway is way to slanted and I just slide down it.

You holding your tongue, kept you from getting injured and able to run.

From baldnspicy on Tue, Feb 09, 2010 at 14:36:57 from 72.77.113.184

Kelli - that's why you need me there. I have experience with my own steep driveway!

Mattrow - tru dat! 17 yrs of marriage have taught me a thing or two.

Alrighty then, you need to move in next door. Although, i think we are done with snow for the year so you can wait until next October to move across the country.

OH, and a good thing to hold your tongue with that comment. Her job is to stay inside where it is nice and warm, wrap up in a blanket, pour herself some nice hot chocolate, and WATCH your lovingly from the window.
