June - Riverview 5k  - Bummed I missed signing up for this one. It's one of my favorites!
Sept - Gatorade/Steelers 5k. (Signed up!)
Sept - IKEA Montour Trail Half  (prob not, but leaving it on here)
Sept - The Great Race 10k (My Running 101 goal race)
Nov - Dirt Monster 5mi (Gotta do it again no matter what!)

Long-Term Running Goals:

Finish recovering from my injuries and build mileage.  That is all.

Personal:

My name is Wes, I'm married with two wonderful children. The nickname BaldNSpicy came from the fact that I have been balding for a (long) while now and spicy for my love of very spicy foods (Thai and extremely hot wings are my favorites).  If eating doesn't bring me near tears and leave me sweating, it's not worth eating.  :-)

Oh, and I'm also known for my doorags.

Slowly getting back into it. I started a new medication about 7-8 weeks ago which has caused me to gain some weight (made worse by not exercising). Felt good, but had to keep it slow to get the miles in. Had 1min periods of walking in there. But was glad to get out.  I'm not sure if it's the "short-shorts" (2" inseam, I think) I was wearing or if it's just the increased weight (noticed in my waist, booty, and thighs) but I got some chaffing on the inner thighs.  Haven't had a problem with my legs rubbing together, but notice it with this weight gain.  I'm just glad the run wasn't long enough to make the chaffing really bad!  I may have to see if my normal 4" inseam shorts still allow the chaffing, but I may have to adjust my wardrobe to accommodate.

Time to get regular on the blog again...

Wow, barely eeked this one out!  Sleep has been hard to come by the last week or two...restful sleep, that is.  I must have been more exhausted after work than I thought I was.  Walking home from the bus I had a bit of vertigo and not feeling very "stable."

The girls were going to be staying up late to get some last minute scrapbooking done so I decided to go for a short run.  It was a struggle most of the way with a high heart rate (160-168) for the 11:00 - 11:30 pace!  Not sure what was up with that.  Wasn't hot, but was pretty humid.  Got sprinkled on as I finished and an hour later it was downpouring.  Glad I left when I did.
