2013 Races:

May - Pittsburgh Marathon (started, but DNF about the half way point)
June - Riverview 5k  - Bummed I missed signing up for this one. It's one of my favorites!
Sept - Gatorade/Steelers 5k. (Signed up!)
Sept - IKEA Montour Trail Half  (prob not, but leaving it on here)
Sept - The Great Race 10k (My Running 101 goal race)
Nov - Dirt Monster 5mi (Gotta do it again no matter what!)

Long-Term Running Goals:

Finish recovering from my injuries and build mileage.  That is all.

Personal:

My name is Wes, I'm married with two wonderful children. The nickname BaldNSpicy came from the fact that I have been balding for a (long) while now and spicy for my love of very spicy foods (Thai and extremely hot wings are my favorites).  If eating doesn't bring me near tears and leave me sweating, it's not worth eating.  :-)

Oh, and I'm also known for my doorags.

Wow...Embarrassing week!  I guess I'd better go running during seminary tomorrow!  Camping got canceled for tonight due to thunderstorms (that have yet to materialize...grrrr!), so we'll be going early tomorrow and plead with the camp director to let us in early.

Guess after last night, I won't be getting an updated picture with the Stanley Cup like last year:

I guess I'll write the team and thank them for saving me $5 since that was the required donation last year to get a picture.  Thanks for donating to my next race entrance fee fund!

Holy Cow! That is a huge chunk of hardware!

The Stanley Cup made a stop in Huntsville earlier this year. I was actually at the game, but did not waste $5 to get my pic made with it. I'm not really a hockey fan, just went with some friends because I got free tickets through my work. It is pretty neat that it came here though as we are not really a hockey town.

I didn't realize that hardware was so large. Are you a hockey player? I hear it is very time-consuming and expensive if you get serious, plus lots of Sunday commitments.

That is an awesome picture with the cup! I actually have a picture with the cup up in Toronto at the hall! I was bumming when my team got knocked out first round, but I have to cheer for those Canadians because they are cinderellas.

Dude, your running shoes are feeling neglected. No action for a week? What's up?

KP - Pittsburgh is a huge hockey town. I've never been a big fan, but since my employer is a major sponsor and the $5 was going to a charity, I decided I'd do it. I figured it was a unique opportunity, but apparently it's not. lol

Flat - Nope, not a hockey player. Looking at my physique, I can see how you'd be mistaken, though.

Steve - I was probably one of the minority that didn't practically molest the thing. This one lady (fully decked out in Penguins gear) paid $20 to get 4 pictures with it. Each one a little more...um, intimate. She scared me.

My family has been to two games since moving here. My company raffles off tickets every year. They're always within 10 rows of the ice, right behind the bench. Pretty sweet. There's no way I'm paying $100/seat for nosebleeds when I can take that $400 and go to 10 Pirates games. :-) Let's go Bucs! Try and get over 500 this year...PLEASE!

Oh, Trap, forgot to comment. Yes, they were getting very lonely. I have put in two days this week, but only on #2 shoes, so I'll have to get the #1s out so they don't feel left out. Thanks for the encouragement. :-)
