Up early today and ran part of the Equinox Trail Marathon course by Fairbanks, AK angling East off it to run along the oil pipeline for about two miles.  Perfect temp of 60 degrees but had no water and had to stop to drink out of a river.  I've been reading a lot that the risk of disease from rivers is highly overstated.  I guess I'll see tomorrow.  22.3 miles.

In the evening I met up with the guys and gals of Runner's Club North on the Wolverines high school track for a good track workout of 5X1,000, 4X800, 2X400, 5 strides.  Easy running before and after with some cool tales of trail running up here.  8 miles

Wow, Steve that is quite the day. Very impressive. I love the picture of you running along the oil pipeline.

rad pics Steve. I don't think I could pick a favorite but the pipeline one is just very unique knowing the background and history of this...

Cool pictures! I love that you drank out of a river without any concerns for the microscopic organisms that may now be breeding in your stomach :-)

Looks like a nice track.

Did you move to Fairbanks without telling anyone?

Nice pics, quite a day.

At least the water is cold and fast moving. Just don't try this in the midwest/south in warm, placid water...bad bugs there.

How cool is that running the pipe?! Yeah, won't be trying the stream water in central IL anytime soon.

Yeah, it's a different experience running here. No, I have not moved. The kids are gone on summer vacation a few weeks with their mom so I have some freedom...
