Last run on the grass today.  Heading home after three days shuttling kids back and forth to Disneyland.  Great bunch of flight attendants and a fun trip.  The grass seems to use the legs differently, it's been good for my running.  I also went one hole down in the belt loop today which means I'm tossing some fat baby.  I've decided my goal for the summer is to PR at TOU marathon, my slowest.  I've just got a base established so I could start some decent training in June.

I hope this isn't to presumptuous but I'm actually looking forward to the TOU Masters course record showdown. I'm glad you're still committed.

I'm always wasted by the time that marathon comes around. I never have a chance to train for it. Is it going to be a goal race for you?

Heck no, I meant you and Sasha. I'm going to sit at the finish line with a bowl of popcorn, and some Twinkies.

Great... now I get to hear more questions like "Dad why have we never been to Disneyland?", and "Dad, why don't we ever take vacations during the school year?".

:-) Well if it helps I've only taken mine once. We were on our way last spring in the Motorhome but when we camped at Lake Powell on the way the girls just wanted to stay there. Much more fun.

Great idea Steve, giving TOU an honest crack. I think you can break 2:30 there if you don't find some other marathon to run the week before :-)

Or the Alta Peruvian two reeks before!

I will run it different this year. But I wouldn't have traded those that experience running those five marathons in two months last summer. I have been running again four years now. I was bored with the whole road race thing. That challenged me. Even now I have to convince myself that I want to spend the summer focusing on one good marathon. Running does a lot more for me than the fast time. Sometimes I just gotta be out there. But I will run Alta this year. Skipped it last year.
