Dropped the kids off this morning after two weeks of time with them without going to work at all.  So glad to have a job that has flexibility when we need it.  I took a trip to Orange County Ca for a nice afternoon on the beach.  Surprisingly I wasn't sore today at all, just some overall deadness in the legs so I ran one of my favorite beach courses, Balboa, Newport, up to Huntington and back down.  I'll probably pay for this tomorrow.

Running over 5 miles would make the average person sore yet you can run 26.2 in 2:38 down a big mountain on pavement and not be sore at all. Is it the mountain dew? As I drove back to the start I looked around mile 5 for your watch but couldn't find it. Which one are you going to get? I loved the Garmin 305 but I might get the 310xt.

I'm not sure what's up with my marathon experience right now. It's probably due to running that one slower than I should have. But it felt pretty hard. I have to think this one through. I have gone through three Garmin 610s. They are junk. I had a 310xt which I used for a lot of lake swimming and which had the best reception of all of them. I sold it to get the 610 and have regretted it ever since.

He's not a man, he's a machine...

Not sore the day after a sub 2:40 marathon...incredible.

See you on Saturday. Let's both be committed to staying on the right course :-)
