I got in some miles this week so I knew I could run this one strong. I wore my fat man shoes which seem to keep my knee much more stable because I didn't feel it much today. Started out with about the same pace as last weeks first four miles, 5:35, ran some fast ones in the middle and lost a good 30 seconds on the last mile. The lead group was gone like a rocket, well under five minute pace since the first miles were downhill. I didn't even see them until I began passing guys at mile 6. But Dave T began catching up to me by the golf course and I was sure he was going to pass and was waiting to have to kick it in. He's a great masters runner this year. Lots of great faces today, you don't show up to any race in Utah this year expecting the norm. Best consistent competition I can remember. Pretty sweet masters run by Walter. When he's on his A game he's pretty untouchable in the half.
