Perfect race conditions today.  I ran with John R for the first 8 miles, actually tagging along behind him since he had a clockwork pace dialed in.  Just about dead on 5:43 pace all the way to 11 miles.  Thanls John!  The pace felt great so I kept it up through the half, at 1:15:50, I think.  I took a wrong turn as the road does a 90 to the half point and added some distance, but only a block or so I think.  I slowed down on the flat and rollers through the mid marathon since these have always killed me at Ogden.  I was above 6 pace through here.  When I reached the downhill I picked it back up to 5:45 which was good since I faded again on the last two miles to 6:15 pace.  Pretty much alone for the whole race today except for running behind John at the start.  This marathon felt the best of any I have ever run.  Somehow not sore at all today.  I got yelled at by two cops for running tangents.  One actually drove on the side of me on his motorcycle through the winding part of the canyon and told me to get over on the coned section of the road.  I had to or risk being DQ'd.  This is the only annoying part of marathoning for me, courses through curvy canyons marked on tangents for distance that you are not allowed to run.  (besides they are unusually long).  My GPS showed .5 long today but that was in part to taking the wrong turn.

Nice job Steve. It's awesome how Rim to Rim runs and multiple marathons have no negative effect on your ability to keep coming back for more.

You should submit your body for research studies.

Steve, great race. I didn't know you'd gone off course a bit, that makes it even more impressive. You're getting very close to that 2:30 goal. It was great talking to you this weekend.

Amazing Steve. You are getting stronger and faster every marathon! :-) I'm impressed by your consistency and tough racing. Way to go!

Great race, that is an awesome time. Congrats on the Master's win. You are running with an incredible passion and endurance right now!

Great job and congrats on the Master's win!

Not entirely sure but I think I chatted with a lady friend of yours as I was walking back to the hotel after the half marathon, she was bragging you up pretty good and I can see knew what she was talking about!

Your resiliency is unbelievable. To have put together 4 marathons so close together, not to mention rim-to-rim runs and crazy tough interval workouts, it's amazing. You've got to tell me your secrets to recovery, or let us all in on your secret bionic legs.

Great work! Another super easy master's win for you.

Nice work today. I had the course long too.

Man alive! Seriously, incredibly impressive! You must have ate the peeps you were supposed to bring me! Just teasing (I got to the start line roughly 4 minutes late). Awesome race you ran! Congrats!

Nice job Steve, as always. What does the trend line predict for UVM? Take it for what it's worth but if you can resist that 4 hour epic 23 mile the Tuesday before a PR should be in the bag. You are a machine!

From Steve on Sun, May 20, 2012 at 08:09:35 from 66.87.66.46

Fritz, I'm a little lost on how to get ready for UVM. Three weeks to go. I should be able to take 5 minutes off this time, but cutting mileage doesn't seem to help. The long canyon run for sure cost me a little yesterday. Any suggestions?

Mark, Mr Anderson is now my mantra

Teena, you are a slacker...I actually brought Peeps yesterday. They could have made a tremendous difference in your race!

Priman, maybe we both take tangents long...

Scott, its Peeps..

Tom, what? Did you get her number?

Lili, thanks!!

Jeff, Let's rock UVM in three weeks!

Jake, I'm holding together...

Riley, once again, the memory of your hurling in front of me last year will always be a highlight.

Rob, I think it is simply three years of marathon training. I really believe it takes at least two years to get solid enough to train hard. Maybe now I can start

Another fantastic race. Good luck at UV.

Super race! I noticed the course was long as per my own Garmin. WHO MAKES A MARATHON LONG? Way to take the win!

From Fritz on Sun, May 20, 2012 at 20:32:01 from 67.182.226.25

Considering the great shape you are in I don't think you need to cut back your mileage until the week of the race. For that week everybody is probably different but I like to basically take two days off, get plenty of sleep and not do any runs over 10 miles. I think it's always better to underdo it and run just enough to keep my sanity.

From Chad Robinson on Sun, May 20, 2012 at 22:50:00 from 65.130.117.26

Fantastic race Steve! You are most definitely an animal that rocks one serious blanket. So I guess breaking 2:30 is next since you can start training for real now.

From Steve on Tue, May 22, 2012 at 12:26:05 from 66.87.127.222

Fritz, I'm going to give that a shot!
