Short speedwork today, two mile warm up, 2X1mile at 5:30, 1 mile all out, 4X400s, 2 cool down.  Sore calves from Saturday which is probably due to running in flats for the first time this year, heel lowering.

Now I'm sitting by the pool for the rest of the day.  This feels like I'm a school teacher.

Halfway through "Hell on Two Wheels" and trying to figure out if this whole thing is real.

Good tuneup Steve.

Now we just need to not go out 30 seconds too fast on Monday ;-)

Seriously. I have a friend in Milford, the next town down from Hopkington who is gonna be out there yelling at us. Her sole instruction from me is to yell, SLOW DOWN! when we come by.

Its like at high school track meets, the parents who have no clue what is going on yell "pick it up!" regardless of what pace is being run... except that in this case its the exact opposite - slow down no matter what!

Cycling? It sounds like a Hell's Angel bio or something.. Have to look that one up.

The most extreme bike race, RAAM, 3,000 miles. This covers the controversial race of 2009. These guys race 10 days with an average of 10 hours of sleep during that time. Not that I admire that, but it's a good study on how these guys tackle the balance of extreme sports and family obligations.

Also an interesting post on the state of Boston:

I know that school teacher comment was aimed at me.

I could spend some time here talking about how hard I work but I have to go push "play" on the DVD player so my students can learn.

:) Coudn't resist since you have spent so much time lounging in California lately.
