4 hour hike up Siphon Draw to Flatiron Peak in the Superstition Mountains east of Phoenix. Great evening with a friend, incredible country and good company. 6.3 miles

That's a cool hike. I've gone up there twice w/ my parents - the first time we got turned around before the very top b/c of ice (it was around x-mas), and the second time it got hot out (around memorial day) and the rattlesnakes were out, so we turned around again. Someday I'll make it to the top!

It could be my favorite in Arizona. Just over the top you come across Hog Canyon which is that pic that I have for my cover on Facebook. As steep and rugged country as anywhere in the world. Perfect for trail running :) Last night the bats were out, a full moon, and two owls were hooting at each other across Siphon Draw over our heads. It would just echo back and forth. Spooky.
