Smell the dirt, feel the mountain, taste the wind.
Personal:
"Our legs are tight, our feet are flying, and we are gliding over the roll of the land. The sun is up, the air is fresh, the stone is old, and we are free and at peace. The clock has stopped because another time has taken over." C. Bowden
Off day. Taught the kids how to drive four wheelers all afternoon. That should make their mom happy...

Yep, now I just have to teach them mudding, wearing camo, and how to fry everything. Jake, I'm fying out of Phoenix up to Sedona with a small plane this weekend with a friend. Weren't you guys just down there? Recommend things to do?

Tons of great running and mountain biking trails - I'll send you some of the ones I know tomorrow ... I have a few maps saved on my computer at work.

Steve - There is a great dirt road called the Vultee Arch road - its on the west side of town

They also just put in a brand new Olympic dimensions track at the high school - its pretty amazing. You can run the loop down to Red Rock state park from there.
I havent run it, but it looks like there is a good trail just west of the airport, you can see it if you look on google maps satellite view.
Southeast of the airport, there is a nice smooth and wide dirt trail called the bell rock parkway.

Thanks Jake, we hit a trail right out of the airport. Literally left our stuff and took off on a run. This country is amazing up here. When we took off I could see trails in the mountains all the way back that I wanted land by and go run. Which made me think, wouldn't it be cool to take a day, fly a range and run whatever trails look fun? Kind of like heli skiing, plane running...

I like this plane running idea! :-)
