Marathon: Paris, April 10, 2011. 4:05:24.
1/2 marathon: Geoduck Gallop, February 2011. 1:42:23, 1st in age group.
Waterfront 15K (September 2010), 1:14:43. 3rd in AG. Lake Padden Duathlon (July 2010), 1:36:something. 1st in AG . 10K: Smelt Run, La Conner (2010) 47:14. 2nd in AG. I have fun every time I run, and have recently overcome the "I can't go fast anymore" hurdle. I'm having fun going faster and working towards becoming even faster. I have raised two running children, one competitive and one not. I have learned to run in ice and snow and I don't complain. Short-Term Running Goals: Work towards a faster marathon by Spring 2012. Get my 5K down to 21:30. Place in my division at duathlon and triathlon. Train for biathlon.
Long-Term Running Goals: Joining Forrest Gump

| Long early morning run in Hanoi. This was a very challenging run. I had no idea where to go, and the hotel concierge was extremely unhelpful. Running here is so mentally challenging, and the prospect of another 2.5 hours is not so good. But, in the end, it went very well, and I saw a lot of things early in the morning. As usual, I wish I had a camera to run with! |

| I leave tonight, but not until midnight, so plenty of time to follow up yesterday's long run with two shorter ones today. 45 minutes in the morning; same location as yesterday's long run, so I at least knew where to go this time! Shopped all day with a woman from our group, spending all of our vietnamese money! 45 minutes of tempo running in the evening, then a late dinner and on to the airport. |

| Two runs today; am run of just over an hour, and pm run of 45 minutes, with tempo intervals. I feel a bit disoriented, but I think that running on schedule helped me get back on track. Yoga after run #2. |

50 minutes of running, plus hip and shoulder exercises.
I got new tights and shoes for my 50 miler. The shoes are Nike Pegasus, with gortex in them! Tights are a long version of the lighter weight CWX tights. I think it will likely be quite cold, and I'll want long tights with some support.
