Recovery day, only 4 easy running miles required.  So I decided to go for a bike ride first.  The weather is absolutely perfect today for riding!  Its warm, sunny, and a little breeze.  There is a lovely fall smell in the air, and people are picking blackberries along all of the roads.  I rode with my friend Julie around a hilly loop here near my house, partly along the lake and partly along some hilly country roads.  If I ever live out of town, I want to live up there, and have llamas.  Anyway, when we got back to my house, I was inspired to just stuff a bit of food in, change into my running gear, and do the four easy miles right away.  I was thinking that later in the day I would be tired and it would be harder to get out and do it.  So that's what I did.  Wow, did my legs feel funny.  I felt like I was moving through water and going about 12 minute miles.  But when I looked at Garmin, my first two splits were 9:09 and 9:12!  This kind of cracked me up for some reason, because I really felt like I was not even moving.  In fact, I even wondered if people passing me in cars on the road part of the run were looking at me funny, wondering why I was moving so slowly!  Third split was 9:23, and last split was 9:22.

So, a strange workout, but good recovery jog.  Now I'm tired and will sit around reading.  I love being outdoors in this weather, the breeze is nice.

Alpacas would be nice - do you spin as well as knit?

Good recovery run! I'll bet riding the bike first helped warm up the muscles nicely.

I love the smell of fall!!! YEAH, hurry up and get here. Fall is the best weather for running.

Nice workout today!! It is nice when you feel like you are sluggin' along and you really aren't! Have a great week!

I meant alpacas, Sno. I spin a bit, and would love to more.

JD: There is still time to do a tri! Its only 2:40 and I've already napped. Going to get ice cream with my enormous son. Does that count?

Kelli: I am going to try to remember that feeling at the end of the marathon. LOL!

That really does sound like a fabulous day. And you are doing great a day after your long run. Have a great time sitting around reading. That is one of my very most favorite things to do. I hope you're reading something good!

atleast the opposite isn't happening--you think you are flying and really only doing a 12 minute mile. LOL
