AM-Easy 10 miles with one mile warm-up before our meetup with Sasha. Good times and good conversation. Easy run with some pickups at old time 5k pace. About 5:20-30/mi.:)   I remember when that pace was very doable on this course ten years ago.  Not so much now..  Time is marching on ever on..

Age does take it's toll Steve but not as fast as we sometimes think. Stay optimistic! You have some great races left in you.

Someday I'm going to write a long post on this subject based on my reading and my own personal experience. I'll be 50 in a few weeks and can still manage a 1:16 - 1:17 half on a good day. I'm pretty proud of that. But it gets harder to muster up the energy and enthusiasm which ebbs and flows as you age. Diet, rest, and coming up with fresh challenges and motivation are key.

Your right.. I've just been dealing with a chronic injury for so long. I've let sloppy mechanics creep in over time and it has really affected things. The good news is though I've pinned these problems down and am starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel.
