Easy 5 miles this morning. 7:36/avg.  I'm not even freaking sore today!  What gives?

I wonder if Tim Noakes is really right after all with his theory of the central governor and it's relationship to the number of hard marathons you have run in the past.  The theory being that the more of them you run in a lifetime the slower your times will become after a period.  Gave me something to think about on this mornings run thats for sure.  Ugh.. Very depressing thought.

Don't be hard on yourself, everyone is allowed a bad day. I'm starting to feel like my running career is ending before I ever got it started. You at least know how it feels to be on top, that's probably why a bad day is so much harder to take.

You'll be back I'm sure, I want to run at least the first mile of Desert News with you ;)

Hey Steve. I'm familiar with Noake's argument here and I think it is mostly true. What I know for sure is that no one can train and race with the same intensity their entire life. That's why most top masters runners don't even start training and racing until their 30s or 40s. I've been running since middle school but didn't train or race very seriously from my mid 20s to about 40. I think that's why I'm able to do it with a lot of intensity now.

I don't like the sound of that theory... but I'm guessing it's pretty true. BTW I left your shirt with Bill Cobbler. I figured you'd see him before you'd see me.
