Easy 9 miles in the streets of Phoenix this morning. I was awake before anyone else so I took advantage and went to the patio area of the hotel and watched the sun come up over the desert. What a beautiful place, giant Saguaro cactii everywhere interspersed with prickly pear and and various other plantings. It was a welcome relief from the cold and dreariness of wintertime. PM-Anticipating the start of the relay this evening. Just over 150 teams from all over the country I've been told. I feel very confident and not worried for some reason.
