Tough race today, gave it all up on those darn hills! Oh well it was fun its own twisted tortuous way. Good job everybody I was impressed with how you guys handled that long nasty uphill. It felt like watching a ship slowly pass off into the horizon while stranded at sea on a piece of driftwood.... I finally floated in at 36:28 or something.

Steve

With the number and quality of miles you are logging I don't think it will be long until you are in control of that ship.

I agree Steve just keep up the miles and consistency and it will all pay off in the long run. I remember having more bad race days than good when I was running high mileage but every once in awhile it all came together and I was able to hit a couple big PRs.

Good anonymous quote:

"Success is failure turned inside out--

The silver tints of the clouds of doubt;

And you can never tell how close you are--

It may be near when it seems so far.

So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit: It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit!"

I really like that quote by Ted. At least your ship drifted slowly off into the horizon, my ship was more like the Titanic, slowly sinking to the bottom of the sea. With the kind of training you are doing you will hit a point where you race performances will become much more consistent. When I was running high mileage it took a little bit before my performance stabilized. You are a very talented runner, stay with it and you will achieve your goals. I hope your leg is feeling better.
