Happy Thanksgiving!

I was not going into this as a race but more to have some fun. The last time I ran it was in 2009. Saw some familiar faces at the start. Spoke with Kevin a little and added more onto my warm-up with Fritz. The course is uphill then downhill. It was cool but good for racing temperature wise. The start was entertaining as BJ and a friend decided to cross dress for the race... Very funny.

Since I wasn't "racing" I stayed back with the second pack at the start. Picked one guy off going into the canyon, then a second. However, I then got into a game of leapfrog with Mike Evans. He ended up laying the hammer down with about half mile or more to go and I never retook him. At the time I did not know who he was but after finding out realized he was just playing around. It was still a lot of fun to actually end up racing someone. That does not happen that often.

I ran 17 seconds slower than 2009 and 1:07 slower than 2007 so not my fastest on the course but I fulfilled my goal of having some fun.

The highlight was definitely the warm-up and cool-down with Fritz. It was fun getting to talk with him some.

Hope you are all gorging on food. I'm going to now.

Thanks all. It was a good way to start the day.

Jake, Please return the sentiment to your family. That was nice that you got to finish the race yesterday with your dad.
