This is going to be a very optimistic post.
So this is my first post since the Deseret News 10k. I have been in a blog slump. I also havent had my whole heart in running since then. Everything from work, to family, to vacation. I haven't made blogging a priority.
Sooo Highland, yea, a week and a half away. TBH... I'm not ready I don't think anyone on Alta is. Even Blake as much as he says he is, isn't because of Injury.
Coach isn't the happiest with us. We need to Improve. If we don't we will fail our goals. We need to come together as brothers and run for eachother.
There is a big difference between 1st and 5th at state. Right now we are definetley not 1st but we also aren't the worst.
This isn't meant to be negative. This is all meant to be a wake up call, a late one, that we need to get in gear and run for whatever motivates us the most. For me I run to prove to anyone and everyone that even a 17 year old kid with a Liver Transplant can live a normal life. In fact not only live a normal life, but I can live a life of importance and meaning.
Running isn't everything. School isn't everything. Family isn't everything. Church isn't everything. Friends isn't everything. You have to find the balance between everything. It is a very hard task to accomplish. I'm working towards balancing it as well as improving in each of those areas.
Like Kramer Morton said "Running, Singing, SBO, those are things I DO; but that is not who I am. I am a Disciple of Christ." He taught me a lot about how to be a better person. That is what the ultimate goal of running should be. "To be Forever Strong on the field so you can be Forever Strong off it."-Larry Gelwix
Bringing everything together: This season isn't about championships for me. This season is about preparing myself and my brothers to be the best they can be in everything they do. On the course and off it.
