Today will be the first day back to Cross Country Training. I'm really excited! 148 days until state. We have 4 returning varsity runners Davis, Blake, Cubby, and Chase. This means that's someone is going to have to step up and be THE 5th man. I plan on being that 5th man however it's not going to come easy. We have a few potential kids who will make me fight for it.

My goal is simple and attainable take 3rd place at state. I'm order for this to happen we need to have 5 guys all under 16:30 and a collective team time of 1:20:50 based on last years results. I think this goal is definetly within reach, it depends wether we choose to reach out and grasp it.

You can't race fast, if you train half fast. ;)

Pm- 3 easy miles then core work. It was very tough.... But I will build into it! I also pushed the pace a bit.

Opening social/banquet was tonight at Rock Creek Pizza. It was really good! We have quite a few more girls this year! Maybe having them train with us will get more boys out ;)

"it depends wether we choose to reach out and grasp it."

Well said, despite the obvious spelling error :-)

You are going into the summer with the right attitude. You'll have ups and downs, the key is don't let the down days be the boss. Do something every day that brings you closer to the goals - all the little stuff matters, and that stuff is truly up to the choices you make.

There is something really awesome about setting a big goal and then systematically working towards it, step by step. You find out a lot about your character (as a person, not just as a runner) in that process.

Murphy- I will be there!

Jake- Darn auto correct... :) Thank you for the advice!
