Maybe a marathon in 2013?
Long-Term Running Goals:
Enjoy running and racing at whatever level I am able to. Possibly run another marathon post Microfracture Surgery in under 3:00.
Personal:
I'm in the Army. I am married with four children (20/17/13/8 years old). Trying to return to previous running form after having microfracture knee surgery in July 2008.
Starting week two of the post micro-fracture comeback! Knee hurt today more than usual right from the start. However, made it for the 1 mile on BYU indoor track in about 7:30. So miracle yet but slow and steady progress I guess.
Normal 5:30am routine now of running 1 mile at BYU indoor track. Things went ok, not good but got the mile in at 7:30 pace. Also continued routine of 100+ push-ups and 100+ sit-ups a day as well.
Decent day today. Some pain at first so I thought it was going to be a bad day but by 2nd lap or so it felt a little better. Ended up running a 6:55 mile. Did lots of sit-ups (over 200) and about 100 push-ups as well. For first time had some thoughts about running a 2nd mile today but figured it is still not best to move miles up until the pain subsides a bit more.
Two ok days in a row. Knee hurt first more during first couple laps and then still hurt but a little less on the last few laps again. I ran a 6:45 mile today. Tomorrow makes two weeks of 1 mile a day, it's a start.
