AM - 15 miles along the Provo River at an average pace of 7:18. First 5 easy with Sasha and Jeff. I then gradually got faster running the next 6 at 7:01 average and the last 4 were at a 6:36 average. Overall, felt ok except legs are tired and a few minor issues. Kayaking on the Provo River for 5 miles yesterday made my shins and ankle sore. I am not sure why? I will probably add about 3 miles tonight. Old news but follow the link to see the last lap of the Men's WC 1500. USA wins for 1st time in 99 years!

PM - 2 miles with Jared and James. Was going to do 3 miles but having some issues with my right lower leg. Ice tonight and ibuprofin and hope for the best in the morning.

Hi Ted,

I am not sure if you saw my comment from July -- I met you in Nashville at Dave's track meet. Dean and I just moved to SLC. I was happy to find you here - I had been wondering about you since you left for Iraq. I know that Meridith was ok as she ran the country music marathon from Iraq, but we hadn't heard anything about you.

Anyway - good to see you are doing well, good luck getting back to racing shape!

Ted-

When you run from BYU out to the river trial for your ten mile run, do you start from the SFH and go on 800 N, then turn left onto the trail before the bridge? I'm planning on going from there tomorrow morning early and maybe catch you guys for a mile or so. If I don't, where about is 4 miles on that course? thanks

Adam,

Yes, that is the route. From FH turn on 800 N at Brick Oven and jump on trail at bridge. The 1 mile mark is at the ward building just before the bridge. It is about 1.65 miles to the spot wear Sasha and I normally get on the trail (2.1 miles to Sasha's house). If you keep going straight I would think the 4.05 mile mark would be just before the 1.5 mile mark down the trail from Geneva Road (the sixth set of 4 triangles).

Bonnie,

It is good to hear from someone from the past. Yes, I made it home safe in JAN of 2006. I was 20lbs heavier and had not run for 18 months but other than that things went well for me. Do you like it in Utah and at the U? It looks like your running is going pretty well also. I suppose I will see you in some local races this year and possibly at a marathon next year. I guess it is a small world we live in especially if you narrow it down to a running community.

Thanks Ted.

You know, I realized today that except for Sasha, I've never trained with anyone who wasn't Army. (In fact one of them even uses the name ArmyRunner for emails, etc). I guess that's what you get when you grow up on post.

Hey saw you in one of the local papers yesterday for the ROTC down here at Dixie State. Lookin' good!
