Second weekend in a row without a long run... I was so stressed about my paper today that I had to work on it all day till I felt better about it - finished around 8 pm and went out to the Lincoln Memorial and back, 10 minute miles, exactly 1 hr 20 min. A hot and humid night, but the worst part were the little tiny bugs everywhere that get in your eyes... so annoying! Felt pretty good throughout, though left heel hurts a little - icing now... maybe it's time for new shoes, it can't hurt to try...

Good job Rocket. Didn't you go on a long run with Bonnie?

I think it's time for some sport goggles! That will keep the insects out! You will feel so much better once grad school is done with.. so I hear. I finish in December and can't wait for that stress to be over. Always fun though to reward yourself with finishing a paper by going running. Most would grab a beer or extra dessert, but not us runners!

Burt, Bonnie and I went for about 6 and then she kept on going, so her run was longer.

Benn, I hope you are right - and I reward myself with a run AND an extra dessert :)

Hhaha

Thanks for the warm welcome! It must be kind of cool (but HOT) to run in D.C. My brother and his family lived on 12th St. N.W. and I love it there- So many places to see and walk to in the city :)

About the sleep issue, I am proud to say that I have been able to sleep wonderfully for the past 2 nights! I don't know what it was, though I have a feeling you were right about the stress. I noticed that I was thinking about work when I was laying in bed. I don't think diet is the culprit because I eat really healthfully and stay away from sweets for the most part. I usually have a yogurt at night for dessert. So, I have been working during my days to prepare for teaching for the upcoming semester. Lots of work to do, but I feel better plowing into head first than just worrying about it!
