Metroed to work (lazy and coldish...) A cloudy and flurry day in DC - 26 degrees. Cold, but no wind so not too bad. Met my fabulous friend Ashley for a lunchtime run, she's a bit slower than me so it'd be perfect for a recovery jog. We did a nice loop by the river/Lincoln Memorial/Kennedy Center. Shins hurt a little but not too bad. So happy.

Recovery runs with friends ROCK! I am SO glad you are happy! So what is the story with the shin?

Make sure you are icing your shin even when you do the slow/recovery runs. Mine is finally starting to feel better. I think the patch thing is doing the trick.

Marion, I haven't been able to go to the physical therapist to do anything else about my shin... he's not covered by my insurance and with the economy the way it is, I'm hesitant in spending money in anything! Plus with school and work (and some time to have fun of course) I am so busy! I don't know how you gals do so much with kids... I can't imagine!

Lori, I am so bad about icing and stretching... I do it, but not as much as I should. It's time consuming, I haven't been able to find the icing stuff that I want... it's so frustrating... but you're right, I should be better about it... I'm so glad your shin is feeling better! I need to get some of that tape you mentioned - I saw something similar on Runner's world...

FLECTOR Anti-Inflammatory Pain Relief Patch, is what I have been using. My doctor gave me a perscription for it.
