Met up with my friend Diego on the Mall - he's trying to get into running so I'm helping him out.  We went super slow for 3 minutes then walked for 2 - kept it up for 20 minutes, and then did 5 minutes running and 5 walking.  Then he went home and I went for a few more miles up Capitol Hill and then back home.

Congratulations on finishing the Marine corps marathon. You finished and that counts more than anything! It's too bad you had the cramps and thirst problems.

Thanks also for leaving a comment also, on my finishing the same event. It was an awesome day. The weather was really perfect for my taste. Crowds were great. A few times during the run I was doubting if can reach the goal of under four hrs. but it worked out OK. I think what saved me was the many long runs that did on the weekends. I had my routine setup for these long runs (at what mile to take the powerade and when to take the gel). During the marathon I rather strictly stuck to the same routine. So you might try that next time. Good luck and keep up the good work.
