4.2 miles, from the Library of Congress down to the Washington Monument and around and back - met up with Trick who just got a  new job at the LOC.

Still feeling sick, worse than before - went to the doctor this morning but he said he thought it was a virus and not a bacterial infection so he prescribed "time" and no antibiotics. Bummer, but I guess it's a good thing... Hopefully this viral infection will go away soon!

Shins felt tender but not nearly as painful as before - Barry, yo da man!

Nice run! Hope it's warmer down there than up here! It's going to be in the single digits all week I guess?!

From Marion on Mon, Jan 12, 2009 at 22:31:06

Hey you!!! Sorry about your shin! Sorry about the virus! Nice miles though :) I love where you run! I saw the Payson Ball fields and the fire department ;)

Times heals all, except age.

OH man I hope you get feeling better soon, but I have to agree with Marion, you get to run in some very cool places. Try to drink lots of fluids and get more rest.

From barry on Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 12:42:17

Well thank you very much. I am just really happy that the workouts are working for you! I know it sucks doing them, but the long term affect of doing them is worth it.

dude--nice work keeping the mileage up despite the illness. Sounds like we had the same pesky thing. I'm just finishing up coughing yellowish green stuff and am feeling way more energized. You doing that half in March??

From Lucia on Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 13:24:33

Yeah, I think it's not as bad here as it's up there, Benn...

Marion and Lori, I will never take for granted where I get to run every day - it's just too cool! I do miss the Utah mountains though!

Mike, we really missed your witty comments over here!

Totally agree, Barry! I'll have to be very dilligent doing them. I have a nice step in front of my TV so I can do them while I watch the news at night!

From Lucia on Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 13:25:41

Ben, I'm not sure if I'll do the National 1/2... it's just so expensive, it's ridiculous! Almost $100 for a half, and that doesn't even include the t-shirt... boohoo! Are you doing it?

From dutch on Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 13:26:42

geez, seriously??

ok then...maybe not. wanna run it bandit with me?

From Lucia on Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 13:31:50

Ha! Careful, Sasha is watching! :)

I have a friend that can't run it and is selling her bib for $50, but you can't transfer the name... I don't get why they're so inflexible! But the short answer is yes, I'd like to run it! Plus the race passes a block from my house - can you say brunch???

From dutch on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 13:16:20

so it's $80...hmm.

Eric's 30th birthday is that weekend too, so we could run and then brunch and then have birthday drinks etc. sounds tempting, eh? ehhh???

From montelepsy on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 13:21:38

I really missed you calling my comments witty :)

From Camille on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 18:27:17

I'm sorry you are still sick :o(. It is awful to have a viral infection because there is nothing you can do for it. :o( You are a tota rock star though, with that mileage dispite being sick!

From roberto on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 21:00:37
