Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

8:42 average pace with the tribe.  They are gearing up for the OKC marathon next weekend.  I hope they meet their goals!  Went and ate breakfast with Wendy afterwards.  We did a lot of talking and it was good to bond with another woman who is trying to be a better Christian/mother/friend.  We even got emotional and sniffled a little bit. She is an awesome person and I am so excited that she is my friend!  It was really a breath of fresh air.

I'm sniffing too. But it's allergies.

Did you see my blog from a couple of days ago? Nan's real life sister played the part of Trisha on Napoleon Dynamite! Of all people I thought you would think that was cool. :)

Hey April, my wife is having IT Band issues in her right knee and I remember you dealing with that a bit. Do you have any tricks of the trade that might get her through another week of running, and the race? She had to stop after 3 miles yesterday. We got a foam roller and looked up how to stretch IT bands but I thought I'd see if there was anything else. Do you think she should stop running the rest of the week? She's fit enough to run it all, even with a week off but I wan't sure if taking a week off would leave her better or worse off...

Great job getting your runs in this week! It sounds like you enjoyed just running your dirt roads with no training pressure for a change! It's wonderful that you found a good friend (Wendy) because good friends are hard to come by! Hope your tribe does well in their upcoming OKC marathon. Oh, and congratulations on the new job!!

Burt--your blog is always cool! I need to get over there and make some comments, but it is so hard to match such sharp wit as what you have

Joe--stretching didn't seem to help me much. Exercises to strengthen the IT band is what really helped--especially one legged squats and leg lifts(I don't use any weights). If she can run without pain or limping I think she should run so she doesn't get rusty--can she run okay as long as it is superflat and there are no hills? I did avoid hills for a while in training until it felt better.

Adele--I have had a phenomenal week and feel sooooo blessed!

Thanks April, she's gonna test it out early this week in the neighborhood (flat streets).

Oh yeah, 10 miles already? Guess it's time to dive right back into your training.

Nothing like a good friend to have sincere conversation with. SO therapeutic.

And then there is silly Burt. Always good for a laugh. :)
