Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

7:53 AP.  This run was a disaster.  I started by myself in the dark on the HS course and got hopelessly lost.  I spent a significant chunk of time running in circles looking for mile markers and got pretty desperate at one point for some water.  I finally found some tribe members coming back and got pointed the right direction but got lost again.  It was pathetic and pretty discombobulating.  By the time I hit the last 6 miles I was lost again and didn't get much done in the way of marathon pace work.  I threw in a few fast miles but was mostly just a lost mess!  I will not do this again!  Next week I will try 18 with the last 10 at MP on a course I know well!  Ugh! Crazy splits:  8:35, 8:32, 8:26, 8:08, 8:21, 8:02, 7:54, 7:43, 7:50, 7:37, 7:42, 7:44, 7:42, 7:43, 7:47, 7:19, 7:28, 7:54, 8:08, 8:03

we both could have used some more pillow time this morning--- SOME RUNS :(( Hard delete that nightmare and reBOOT to finer more seen paths to run on. I know the feeling I was alone for a run I thought I was to run with others-- up a dark canyon with NO light (Kim had it on and they left me in the dust) and eerie creaky sounds in the dark, lions, tigers and bears oh my,,, and then a stray car/truck....serial killer? I jumped over phantom shadows thinking they were fallen rocks from the canyon walls. I was thinking what in the CRAP am I doing? I deserve a big huge something or other and so do you!!!

I agree Julie. I'm going to pretend this run didn't happen. Next week will be the hardcore long run and then it is time to taper! I am definitely going to have a big something or other this evening!

You're a champ to keep going. A lesser runner would have just called it quits. Great job on the splits even if they were crazy...crazy fast, I'd say. :-) Good luck next week.

Fortunately I have roped my best running friend Eddy into doing the 10+10 mile tempo next weekend with me!

Hey you still got in a quality 20-miler, even if it was all over the place. You'll be ready for next week's run.

Sounds like a crazy run, but kudos for getting it done!!
