Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

7:28 AP.  It was supposed to be 13 at 7:30 pace but I felt good and didn't want to get lost on the new course so I hung off Eddy's shoulder and ran 15.  It was in the 30's and felt freaking fantastic.  I love the fall!  Started out easy and then steadily dropped the pace and rocked steady.  I felt aerobically comfortable the whole time but legs were getting slightly tired at the end.  Ran without fuel or water and energy levels were fine.  Splits 8:25, 7:45, 7:30, 7:22, 7:18, 7:21, 7:21, 7:22, 7:24, 7:18, 7:27, 7:25, 7:21, 7:11, 7:15

Totally off the subject-- I have been watching on the History channel tonight a documentary on the Black Blizzards of the 1930s to 40s in Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico. HELLO!!!! I obviously didn't get the whole gist of those times in my high school history class. And now they use silver to explode into clouds to make rain? What is your family's story April? I am sure that somehow you were affected. You grew up there didn't you? Wowsers. It truly makes me thankful for the abundance I have. And everyone around me for the most part. Told you it was way off the subject. Thought provoking nonetheless.

Julie--that is really interesting! I am actually an army brat and did not grow up in Kansas, although I have been here since I was 15 years old so I guess I'm a Kansan. Both of my parents grew up all over the place too, but most of our extended family is in Texas. We moved a lot when I was a kid but spent about 7 years in various parts of Montana. I went to three different high schools in 3 different states. When my parents divorced my Dad took off and I stayed in Kansas. Me and my mother are still here. I guess staying here is my determination to put some roots down...somewhere! Kansas is a pretty blah state I admit it but I got into a loooot of trouble here and have experienced a lot of joy here too so really I guess it is home! How's that for off-subject and windy...
