Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

7:48 AP.  Yet another windy afternoon run. Mixed route--dirt roads to 170th and back and then two loops in Sienna Ranch.  First loop was 1.5 at a comfortably hard pace in 10:04(6:42 pace).  I was okay with that.  I am just giving my body a heads up for the longer, harder, tempo runs to come.

I like that "heads up." I'm with you, time to get the lungs moving. I've been getting soft with easy runs! That's a great pace.

Yet another 10 miler!!! Hey!!! You sure have slipped into winter mode!!! Exactly when is your marathon? How many weeks? What races do you have planned in between? I am glad you bounced back so well. : D

Not blustery? Hmm. That's weird.

Joe--yeah, I've been eyeing my marathon training schedule starting here pretty quick and I definitely need to steel myself for those tempo intervals with "brisk" recoveries because as I recall there was no full recovery. Those workouts were hard!(but totally paid off)

Julie--I hate the summer. I hate the heat. I'll take bundles of clothes and ice and freezing snow any day over hot ickiness. Houston is January 30th--I am starting a 12 week schedule on November 7th--same format I used for my spring marathon. It worked once, hopefully it works again! In the meantime, I am eyeballing an 8k on the 7th as a kickoff and then a 10-miler on the 20th. I am feeling like I want to race again!

Burt--nah, not quite windy enough, it needs to be about 20mph or so to qualify as blustery

Yeah I think I'm gonna do at least key workout 1 each week on that plan you gave me the link to. Those do look tough!

JOe--I'm going to sound like an advertisement here but after training for 3 different marathons 3 different ways that 12-week schedule left me the strongest and I didn't fall apart at the end.
