I accidentally ran 100 miles in November 2013.  it was hard.  I threw up a lot.  decided to do a better job next time

I did it again on purpose October 2014--Heartland 100 winner and CR 17:38:37

Run enough to hold off the middle-age spread

 

 

 

 

Long-Term Running Goals:

 

Sub 3 hour marathon--SOMEDAY!  Done!

 

New long term goal:  ....run enough to feel kinda like I did when I was fit

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.  
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

6:54 AP. Treadmill at the Y. Wanted to get a good strength and turnover building workout. .75 mile warm-up 8:27 pace. 1.25 miles up 4% 7:30 pace. 1 mile down -2% 6:27. 2 miles up 4% 7:30 pace. 7 miles down 6:35, 6:35, 6:31, 6:27, 6:27, 6:22, 6:18. I did abs last night. I want some runner's abs. Of course I will have to move a little more weight of my midsection to see them.

Nice run & great profile pic! Gotta love running airborne after 26 miles. Everyone in the background is staring at you in astonishment, way to finish so strong in an epic race!

I honestly don't know how you didn't slip into a deep depression with your bilateral stress fractures. I am seriously not looking forward to actually NOT running when I shouldn't. I keep thinking I will wake to a miracle. I might have to quit the blog just so I can't get too sad seeing everyone doing so well!! Hey I saw your new possible goal in the next four years!! If it was good training for St. George, it's probably good training for any race, I like it.

JG--thanks! Julie--you will be back stronger! just get healed up! Joe--the hills have done wonders for leg strength and turnover. I think I will do them once a week forever.
