Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

Speedwork with the tribe.  It was tough today; I struggled.  It was 80-something degrees and humidity was 70%.  The humidity was the kicker.  Today's assignment:  6x800's with 400 recovery.  Warmed up with the tribe, and then the fun started.  Splits were 2:58, 3:05, 3:06, 3:07, 3:02, 3:03--so pace as 5:56 to 6:14 per mile.  All over the place! I wish I would have clamped down in those middle ones and not let myself slip off pace so much.  I had a hard time relaxing today and my legs were tired.  Still, I am glad that it is done and determined to run them all at 6:00 pace or better next time.

Those splits are great April!! Aren't they much quicker than last year? And with only a 400 meter recovery that's awesome? What did you run your recoveries at? Really liking my vicarious (you running them for me) workouts, THANKS APRIL!! : D

did any tribal members keep up with you?

Yeah those are still crazy fast times for 800s with an active recovery, even without the heat/humidity.

Julie--I shuffled in the recoveries at like 11:00 pace and milked them for everything they were worth!(we all did). Our tribe sort of strings out in order--Eddy is the fastest and I just can't match him in speedwork! He ran all of his under 3:00 with his fastest at 2:48! I will try to chase him a little harder next time though! Eddy is pretty amazing, he has lost over 100 pounds through running and now he is a speed demon and hungry for more!

JOe--wassup! I will go check your blog!
