Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

7:33 AP.  It was pretty humid but we started at 5:45 am so temps were in the seventies for the run.  Yes!  I started off the first 10.24 with Eddy before he split off and had to go.  I then took a gu and ran to the fire station and back and kept the momentum.  I felt strong the whole time.  I'm pretty surprised that I ran 17 miles at slightly faster than my PR marathon pace.  This makes me feel pretty good about a big PR at my next marathon.  I have concluded that 60-70mpw really is my optimal training range.

Sounds like you had a great run AND a break from the heat! Score!

Have you signed up for your next marathon yet?

I am glad to hear that you are figuring things out, it gives me hope! I think we ALL have that optimal range and we just need to find it!!

Great job on the humid run, I so do not envy that! SO....when is that next PR Marathon coming????

Wow, that is a great run - 17 miles at MP. I agree you have a big PR coming (not that your last one was small).
