Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

The emphasis was on slow for the run today.  My right quad is much better, but I can tell it is time for new shoes.  My legs have little nagging aches and pains.  My shoes should be in the mail any day now.  Tomorrow will probaby be running circles on the track.

109- woo hoo! You are disappearing! new shoes are the best!

Are you doing OK taking it slow on regular days, and saving all the speed for race day?

I'm keeping myself nice and slow! I tend to run a little faster toward the end of my runs but nothing fast enough to be construed as even a tempo run. I haven't ran fast since my race last Sunday! I do, every now and then, allow myself to let the horses go for half a mile or so just to get it out of my system! I haven't had any desire for speed here lately, though:) I'm planning on running a 5k fun run next month that is non-competitive--it's not even officially timed--so I'll bring a watch and it will be a good fitness test for me(plus at this one you get a t-shirt)!

Oh good- I am glad that it is going well. You are going to love in, in a bit, when you can let those speedy legs fly all the time :) (well, 3 days a week or so ;)
