I overdosed on sugar this weekend and, man, could I feel it this morning.  If it weren't for the fuzzy head and uncomfortable stomach it would have been a great run.  My legs felt good and I was able to maintain a decent pace during the run.  Halfway through the run, another runner turned onto the street where I was running (although he was on the other side of the street) and was moving at a decent pace.  I increased my pace to make sure that he couldn't get ahead of me.  Did this for a mile then slowed to a more comfortable pace.  It's good to know that there is still a little bit of competitiveness burning inside of me.

Isn't it weird how just seeing another runner makes you pick up the pace. I find myself doing that too. It's fine if I'm doing a hard run, but when I'm on a recovery run I fight myself not to do it. Sometimes my inner competitor wins, sometimes the logical side of me wins. Looks like you are the only one up there who braved the storm today.

Sounds like you need to sign up for a race. NICE run to "de-sugar". Have a great week.

Did you ever really doubt that you lost that competitive edge?? No one can run your paces without being competitive!!

Nice job!

We all need to be juiced every once in a while to get us moving faster. Nice run.
