Nothing exciting, just running.  My pace is naturally starting to drop and I'm starting to feel better.  My weight, on the other hand, is out of control.

I am glad to hear I am not the only who is having a hard time eating healthy. Ever since St.George I just can't help myself. Sasha suggested I run 7 miles 6 days a week. It looks like that is what you do. How does it work for you?

From JeffC on Thu, Oct 23, 2008 at 11:03:47

I hear you on the eating thing, too much candy around the house pre-Halloween. I have no control.

From Andy on Thu, Oct 23, 2008 at 11:23:54

Britta - The 7 mile/day thing is a cut back for me and I am doing it as maintenance until I decide what my next goals are. During the summer I was running 10 miles/day during the week then a long run on the weekend. Physically, I think that it works well but psychologically it gets a little boring and monotonous. I think that I prefer a little more variety in my runs.

You know Andy, I didn't want to say anything about your weight. You are getting huge! You skinny men are funny. Try being a mother of five, who even as much as looks at a candy bar and instantly gains 5 pounds in my butt!:) But seriously, you probably can afford to gain a few pounds and not have it affect you too much.

From Andy on Thu, Oct 23, 2008 at 14:19:36

I guess it is hard finding a balance between the ideal running weight and ideal real life weight. I'm probably 10-15 pounds over my ideal running weight and 10 pound below my ideal life weight. I just wished that I could chose where the extra weight goes. I carry it all in my gut and butt.

From Michelle N. on Thu, Oct 23, 2008 at 14:24:13

Andy got back! I have the same issue. If you want to go off ideal weight-I am 5'2" and my ideal running weight is around 105 pounds! Ha, ha, ha. I haven't weighed that since 7th grade. I am 125 right now but I have to look at the fact that I have a ton of muscle for a woman. And I like it that way so I just won't ever be ideal. Oh well. I would never guess you are 10-15 pounds heavy. Maybe you're full of muscle too:)

From Andy on Thu, Oct 23, 2008 at 14:27:11

I have no muscle but I'm tall which means that I have a lot of wasted weight.

From Michelle N. on Thu, Oct 23, 2008 at 14:32:03

Better tall than short with extra weight:)

From rhett on Thu, Oct 23, 2008 at 14:39:03

Just to weigh in (pune intended), I feel fat too. I'm up about 5 pounds since SGM. Glad it's not just me. Problem is, I'm going on vacation at the end of next week for 10 days and I'm sure I'll put on another 5 to 10 then I have a 5k I'd like to do well in 6 days after coming home.

From RivertonPaul on Thu, Oct 23, 2008 at 14:41:04

Just me, another fatty weighing in.

From Michelle N. on Thu, Oct 23, 2008 at 14:45:19

Well fatties, I've actually lost 3 pounds since SG so there:) I don't budge during marathon training but as soon as I add some cross training in and up my weights and eat better, I lose. 5 more to go and I'll be happy. You guys are way over weight!LOL

From britta on Thu, Oct 23, 2008 at 16:41:11

It makes me feel better to know that men have FAT days too. Does that make me mean?

From Rhett on Thu, Oct 23, 2008 at 17:20:32

Britta, you are so mean! LOL

From britta on Thu, Oct 23, 2008 at 17:33:14

I can't help myself!!!!! Have fun on your vaca! You should gain 5-10 that will make me feel better too! LOL
