I can barely walk because my calves hurt so bad so running is completely out of the question for today.  It is crazy how much they hurt.  On the bright side, I registered for Boston 2012 this morning.

congrats on boston. did the registration process go smoothly?

you are smart to take the day off -- my calves were blown out after SLC 1/2 this spring. i ran on them anyway (extremely painful) and then got a stress fracture as a badge of stupidity. staying healthy is #1!

The process was smooth. I am still waiting for them to verify and accept my application but there were no issues with submitting the application.

I have many stupidity badges and have become a little more cautious in my old age.

Go Boston! What qualifying time did you use?

"in my old age" You mentioned your "old" age above and in your race report but you aren't even a master's runner yet, are you?

By the way, the last section of the Jordan River Parkway - Legacy Parkway trail is almost complete. Soon you will be able to run south into Salt Lake and I will be able to run north into Davis County all on weed free pavement.

I have one week left in the sub-masters category. I'm not dealing well with the thought of starting a new decade.

Oh yeah, I used my 2:59 from SGM last year. I had the BQ-20 since I will be 40 when I run Boston.

Awww yay for Boston! I am so excited for you. I have to wait until Friday and hope that it's still open.

My left calf/shin is rediculously sore. Elliptical for me all week until I am daring enough to reasses if I did some major damage.

Look at it this way, you will always be younger than I am.... and faster.
