Still not feeling normal.  Ran the last 2 slightly downhill miles at 7:00/mile pace and it took a lot of effort.  Definitely not a sustainable pace.  This is so depressing.

Any chance your airways are still mugged up after being sick for so long? When my asthma gets bad that is exactly how I feel when I try to run. Just far too much effort at paces that normally are sustainable. If you have anything congestion in your lungs, bronchioles, trachea, etc., I would be shocked if it didn't do the same thing.

Sorry you are feeling like this.

Are you still going to race tomorrow?

It is not a breathing issue. I just feel really out of shape. My heart rate is still a little high which I think is making my body work too hard. The mystery is why my heart rate is not returning to it's normal level. I am still planning on "racing" tomorrow although I have a feeling it is not going to be pretty. It is hard going into a race where I was expecting a 1:25 and knowing that I will be lucky to break 1:35.

Good luck tomorrow Andy - you'll break out of this soon.

Good luck tomorrow, Andy. Try not to stress too much and have some fun. I hear it's going to be a fun race.
