I was able to make up for some of the lost sleep last night.  I took a decent nap then had a full night's sleep.  My legs feel really heavy.  They are not sore but there is just not a lot of pep to them.

I'm starting to have doubts about my training.  I get in decent mileage but it is not really focused training.  I try to get in a tempo run each week then have races here and there for my speed training.  I'm not sure how much this is going to hurt me going into the last 3 marathons of the grand slam.  I'm starting to feel like I should stop worrying about results and placement and just enjoy the experience.  It's just running, after all.

Andy I hear you about the training and have the same doubts sometimes. Seems like if the training gets too focused that sometimes the overall enjoyment of the running experience fades away. Sure is tricky finding the right balance, and sometimes what was the right balance 6 months ago isn't necessarily right for the present.

But I think I'm with you....stop worrying about results and placement and enjoy the experience. I did this in my last race and it ended up being the funnest run/race I've had in months.

Ya i hear you man. I have been running alot of races too. And its hard to do alot of races and hold back some. And then have gas left for the next race or even next run. But it is good to hear your human. For a while there I was starting to wonder since your able hit it so hard and well everytime.

I'm just impressed you keep running as steadily as you do, especially given the events over the last while. At least you are continuing to build your base, which seems to take years. Keep plugging along and your results will follow.
