Nice run in cool, crisp weather.  Aside from a little soreness in my legs, I felt really good this morning.  I spent a lot of the run thinking about how I need to find a way to get the passion for running back.  It has been a real struggle the last couple of months.

Staying injury free will help when the passion kicks in.

Your passion for running was just dormant during the cold months. It helps to have a hot babe to run w/ to bring the passion back! :)

QUICK FIX

You're Dragging

The fix: Chill Out

What you do before and after hard workouts like long runs or speedwork can affect how you feel throughout the week. On these days, keep physical activity to a minimum and stay off your feet as much as possible - this isn't the time for extended shopping trips. Eat sensibly, and stay hydrated throughout the day. Prior to the workout, focus on how you will enjoy the run; afterward congratulate yourself on a job well done.

*** CONGRATS ON A JOB WELL DONE TODAY, ANDY!!!! Now go pour yourself a nice glass of water and focus on how you will enjoy your run tomorrow! :) :) :)

How about something totally different to get your groove back? Like a trail race. Sign up for this- www.wahsatchsteeplechase.com Then instead of heading a few miles west to Legacy for training runs, head a few miles east to the real trails. Nothing like slow miles in the mud to spark some passion.

Well.... it's a thought anyway. For some reason no one ever follows my advice to sign up for this race. It is REALLY fun though!

If nothing else, just head the saying, "action precedes motivation!" and keep on keeping at it.

I don't think that I have the patience or proper mind set for trail running.
