Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - 30 minutes on the exercise bike. Taking another day off running today.

About 25 women ran under the Olympic Trials standard yesterday at CIM...it's hard not to wish we had gone to CIM instead of Philly for the marathon. Jake and I planned Philly way before we even thought we had a chance at making the Trials and decided to not to change that. CIM is said to be about 3 minutes faster than Philly and with the perfect weather they had...I really believe I could've done it there. And the cooler temperatures definitely could've changed Jake's electrolyte problems...I know that I'm dwelling and shouldn't look back anymore, but it's a challenge. I have a feeling they are going to going to lower the standard for the next trials, so I'll just have to get faster. It needs to snow so I can go skiing and get my mind off running for a while!

Haha we are definitely thinking about the same things this morning! :-)

Well I definitely didn't sleep well last night, so I had a lot of time to think about it!

I need a puppy....that would make everything better.

Did you see those 1/2 marathon times from Las Vegas last night???? Holy cow, I counted 12 guys 29:50 or less through 10K! Craig Curly (from here in Tucson) ran a 14:29 for the first 5K!!!! I thought for sure we were going to see a 1:01:xx out of someone! The top 3 women (Willis, Hastings, McGregor) were on 1:09 pace at 10K!

I agree, a puppy makes everything good!

I was pretty depressed a couple of weeks ago, so Dean bought me a nice pategonia hoody I had been admiring as an early Christmas present. In the meantime, before it got here, I went out and got a kitty (we already have 2 dogs). When the "gift" arrived Dean did not know what to do with it, if he gave it to me early he felt compelled to buy another present for Christmas, but he did not really think I looked that depressed anymore because of the cat ;-). In the end, because I saw the package, I got the gift -- and the kitty!!

I can't believe you guys are short on snow? Wouldn't you in most years have enough to get out in early December?

From Jake K on Mon, Dec 05, 2011 at 21:13:32 from 67.177.21.60

Resorts are open, barely... and conditions in our realm (the backcountry) aren't good right now... the coverage is very thin so its a rock party out there. Last year we had gotten like 15 feet of snow by this point!

Don't worry, let 2012 be the lucky year. Redemption my friend! :)
