Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - Headed down to Pleasant Grove for the group run. We dropped a bike along the course so I could stop when needed. Met up with a big crew at JulieC's place and had a really nice run with people that I don't get to run with often, so that was great. I was feeling okay until about mile 11 then decided to cut off and ride the rest of the way back. Feet gradually hurt more and my back had completely tightened up by the time I reached the bike. Can't say I enjoyed the ride at all - it was freezing! My hand warmers weren't quite warm enough.

I'm really happy with 13.5 miles and running EVERY day this week. Progress, I hope! The after party was lots of fun. The pancakes, chocolate milk, company...good times.

yes, we must look at the positive! You made it 13.5 awesome miles. I wish it didn't bother your back so much though and I hope even more that you could find an answer to all these issues!

RAD - you are totally right. I am quite excited to run more this week. I hope it's an upward trend!

It was so fun to run with you this morning Andrea. And yay for a full week of running.

I bet the bike was more miserable than running in the cold. brrrrr! I hope you are relaxing under extra covers with a big cup of hot chocolate. :)

I'm so sorry you are still feeling YUCK! It can be so frustrating to find out what is exactly wrong and then fix it. Great job running everyday this week! Good luck!

It's got to feel great to see the improvement. Injuries can be powerful teachers. I'm looking forward to seeing you back in tip-top shape and rock'n the running scene.

I'm so happy for you, I know it's been hard to not be running more. You've done a remarkable job finding the positives and going with the flow of things. I hope you're able to get someone to workout those kinks in your back.

From Kelli on Sat, Feb 18, 2012 at 21:14:10 from 71.219.85.126

I REALLY hope that you get feeling better soon. It would be a horrible thing for someone with your ability to not be able to continue on. HORRIBLE!!!!! This must get fixed some how, some way.

Great to get to run with a little bit and chat some after the run. Glad you did not FREEZE your nose off on that bike ride.
