Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - Met Devra for a run, 7.6 miles around Sandy. There is nowhere you can go from her house without some major hills!

PM - Messed around in the pool for a bit. It's only 5 ft which is not ideal for pool running, so I spent about 10 minutes experimenting with pool weights, noodles, and kickboards before the solution of two noodles in order for my feet to not hit the ground. Pool running is super boring and I was proud to make it 20 minutes. Not a bad workout though!

Jake and I have decided to head north to Legacy Parkway Trail for a 14 miler with a crew up there. Let me know if you want to join in!

Where / when : )

http://g.co/maps/yd74k - The easiest place to meet is a trailhead on 500 S. Take the I-15 exit 316 at 500 S. Bountiful, and head west for 2.25 miles. You'll cross over Legacy Highway and there's a parking lot on the left. 7:30 a.m. Breakfast afterwards.

We are also definitely coming down your way in the next couple of weeks for JulieC's host run :o)

Sounds good. I'm up here in salt lake so I'll try to make it up tomorrow if it's cool.

I 2nd pool running as super boring. Surprisingly, it will help maintain some threshold fitness though. Once I did it for 6 weeks in college due to a stress fracture during my last meet in indoor track. I was able to run a 3:53 1500 5 short weeks later. Best to do hard intervals with short rest if you do it though.

Pool running is HORRIBLE! I did it while I had a stress fracture. I would wear a hat and put my Ipod on the top of my head(under the hat) so it wouldn't get wet (I looked like a total dork though). Music helped some, but it was drudgery! Good luck!

Last year it took me about 70 mins to pool run a mile (1600 yards). I don't get bored easily but that was BORING.
