Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

Hi. So I wanted to see what you think. I have been having pain in my adductors and on the top of my pubic bone since February. Now that I am back running a lot more, it's starting to come back.

So on Saturday during the half, I could feel tightness in my right hammy, then a pull in my glute, and pain in my insides (psoas?) My low back hurt. Then when I stopped, I felt so sore in my pubic bone and my adductors. Doesn't this sound like you? I felt like a wreck all weekend. My adductors are really sore and tight all the time now.

I just read through more of your posts. I have a friend who just had an appendectomy. She was told no running 6-8 weeks. She ace bandages her abdomen and can do some light jogging. I know your's is more serious, but I saw you ran into trouble with the bike. Maybe you could ace it up for the bike? Just a thought...

Lily - there are so many muscles in that area that it's hard to know what could be causing all your pain. It could be a misalignment issue, adductor strain, or something similar to what I have. I sure hope it's not serious, it would probably be a good idea to get it checked out before it becomes serious and do activities that don't irritate it.

Carina - thanks!I'm getting really impatient and still having a lot of compensation of other muscles, but this PT makes sense to me and I have a lot of confidence in the approach.

Jackie - that's a great idea! I haven't dared to jump on the bike yet, but I'm planning to in the next couple weeks. I am nervous about it irritating the scar area and straining it too much, so I'll give the bandage a try!
