3:28 marathon (St. George, 2006)

50k+ (Moab Red Hot, 9hrs and some change -- yeah, I'm planning to train for this same ultra next year).

Short-Term Running Goals:

This season, I hope to break a 20-minute 5K.  I also hope to get a 1:30 half-marathon and a 3:20 marathon.  I'm hoping this is a successful season.  I train with a great team of running buddies.  Check out their blogs spots below.

Long-Term Running Goals:

I would like to qualify again for Boston and actually run it this time.  Craig, I'm counting on you to help me do that this year.  I've succeeded in encouraging my husband to run a full marathon with me -- now we just have to decide which one.  We both put in for St. George '08 and neither of us drew out.  Too bad!

Personal:

I am married to the greatest guy (Johnny).  No kids for us yet.  Within the last year, Johnny has taken up an interest in running.  He runs with the whole team now.  We enjoy running together, with our golden retriever Murphy, and with our awesome team of the coolest running people out there.

I ALWAYS have a great time at Wednesday night Hill Kills!  Tonight, we had a good turn out: Coach Bill, Tracy1, Natalie, Walter, Traci H., Esther, Murphy, and me.  A few miles in, we did 6 short sprints to really get the blood flowing.  We took on 6 hills for a total mileage of about 5.75 (all of our GPSs had a different distance).  Overall, it was a great quality workout.

It was good to catch up with Coach about the race last Saturday and the passing of Jude's father.  I chatted with Walter and some of the fast girls about the WBR female speed time; I'm interested to see how that pans out.  Unfortunately, the pain in my right hamstring hasn't subsided yet.  But it isn't debilitating either -- I can just feel it gently nagging in there, especially when I try to attack a hill.  Fortunately, Murphy was right by my side the whole way keeping the pace.  I gotta say that he's the best running companion -- never has any complaints.  Cardio-wise, I feel the best I've felt in a long time.  Maybe I'm finally kicking this cold!

Good turnout on the hill kills. It sounds like Bill finally had the chance to meet Walter? That is a good thing.

Yeah, Hill Kills was a lot of fun last night! It was such a nice surprise to see Coach too! My mileage for the course we did last night was 5.5 - Funny huh?

It seems like we need to have a team meeting soon about our plans for the WBR Relay teams....maybe mention something to Coach this weekend and see what he thinks? It will be here before we know it and it usually does take quite a bit of preparation.

I'm sitting at home today nursing a cold....sore throat, boo hoo!
