I was a much better runner in my 20's and 30's. When I was 52 I had a 28.5 5K and a 58.5 10K, and I would like to surpass those times.
Long-Term Running Goals:
Run a 1/2 marathon. I would actually love to run a full marathon, but am not sure if my body would break down with injuries training for one. Update fall 2010: still no 1/2 marathon, but I did run all the way up city creek and back home (14 miles) - absolutely gorgeous!!
Personal:
My name is Adele Kimbrough - I'm 58 and have been running (off and on) since I was 16. My body is not well designed for speed, and I'm a bit arthritic, but I'm having fun trying to figure out just how fast I can be. And this blog helps!
2011 Deseret News 10K Finish Line.
Dang - missed my goal by 4 seconds!
3 miles to city creek & back, no time for stretching.

HI!!!! Long time no talk. This time of year gets crazy and we all get busy and no one blogs much (well, we blog, we just do not talk much!) I watch it happen every year and I miss my blogging friends.
How is life?

No stretching? How is my stretching mentor not stretching? I'm so conflicted.

Hi Kelli - yes, I've been very bad at blogging. But I do read other people's blogs, especially after big races, and CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR AWESOMELY FAST ST. GEORGE MARATHON! Especially with all the high temperatures! VERY IMPRESSIVE! Ditto on Goblin Valley, even with the jack-o-lanterns taunting you at the end!
Hi Burt, Yes I need to stretch more - my old joints do much better when I've been stretching. . . AND, CONGRATULATIONS ON ALL THOSE SPEEDY UNDER 6 MINUTE MILE RACES YOU'VE BEEN RUNNING LATELY!!
Life has been very hectic and stressful lately; work is very busy, and my younger son has had much turmoil and troubled times the last few months. I am very thankful for everything I have, tho, and especially appreciate all the awesome people I've met online thru this blog! Thank you for all the encouragement!

Sorry to hear about your son, that makes life tough for the mom. We never get to stop being moms!
Winter is a time for blogger slacking so now worries. I hardly get on here myself to check up on everyone (I try to at least 1-2 times a week).
Hope that your Thanksgiving was GREAT and that Christmas is even better.
Oh, and thanks for your comments on my races. Those pumpkins were taunting me!!!!
