I'm a mom of two kiddos who wants to make movement a part of my life. My life is full: of chaos, joy, and beauty. I'm grateful for the moments where I can slow down and just be. Running is that for me. A place to just be. #xc4ever

Well, I survived another half marathon!! I definitely didn't feel prepared going into it. I trained, but not enough to really feel ready. I have been really busy with the end of a semester and work that it has been hard to put the effort into training that I would want. Regardless, the day came.

I anticipated the weather being crappy, but didn't think there would be snow..I was late getting to the start (rookie mistake I know) so I jumped out of the car and ran to the start. I forgot my gloves, which left me with freezing hands the whole race. Anyways it started heavily snowing at the start leaving me soaked and cold before it even started. Once we got started, my body warmed up. My watch went into a weird power save mode so I didn't have pace the whole time. I was luckily able to stay relatively consistent throughout though! The course was mostly flat with a few hills here and there. I honestly enjoyed the course. If the weather was nice it would've been much more enjoyable. I was very happy with my time. It gave me hope for the future! I am excited to keep running and see where I can go.

Overall, great experience. So grateful to have a healthy body and to be able to move and be fit. Who would've thought 9 months post surgery I'd be able to do a half marathon!! Not me!
